A Day Out at the Beach… in September
Can you still enjoy a proper beach day in September?
Absolutely. In fact, we think September might just be one of the loveliest times to do it.
The summer crowds begin to disappear, the beach feels a little calmer and everything seems to slow down. But summer hasn’t completely left us yet.
The air can still be beautifully warm and, after a whole summer of sunshine, the sea is around its warmest. There’s something about September water too — those calmer days when the sea seems almost still, making it perfect for a swim, a paddleboard or simply rolling up your trousers and having a paddle.
And then comes our favourite bit.
You get all the loveliness of a beach day with the first cosy feels of autumn.
Come out of the sea, wrap yourself in something warm and head to Manor Made for a bowl of warming homemade soup. Or forget being sensible altogether and go straight for one of our loaded hot chocolates — piled high, properly indulgent and exactly what you want after a dip in the sea.
Coffee. Homemade cake. Soup. Hot chocolate. Sea air - September beach days just hit differently.
And they're wonderfully easy too. We're open daily, there are toilets at the beach, it's dog friendly, and — even better — parking is now free.
So pack a towel, bring the dog, grab your favourite jumper just in case and make a day of it. Because beach days aren't just for summer. We think September might actually be one of the best months for them.
We'll have the coffee machine on, and home made cakes ready. You're welcome.
